Summertime Rolls

Week One of summer break is coming to a close, and it's been a big one.  Monday, we went to the doctor for Daphne's annual check-up.  Tuesday, we went to her Gardening Club meeting (Green Thumbkins - put together by our friend Miss much fun).  Wednesday, Grandma and Grandpa came over and we got our new couch.  At last.  Kev and I celebrated by watching a movie (The King's Speech) since it is now possible to sit on the couch for over 10 minutes without extreme discomfort.  Thursday was hot.  I can't remember what we did...probably not much.  Friday, we took a morning walk to Shoes:
And in the afternoon, we went to a birthday party at Pump It Up.  Saturday, Kev took Daphne to the water park:
And in the evening, we ate dinner on the porch and walked to the new Frozen Yogurt place:
And this morning, we got up early and took a 10-mile bike ride to Paeonian Springs and back, and stopped at South Street Under for breakfast.
Then, we set up the new Slip-n-Slide, which Daphne slipped and slided on at least 100 times.  She took a LONG nap.
Tonight, we're watching the Mavericks.  Game 6.  There will be ice cream.

At dinner, I told Daphne that there is no way we'll be able to keep up this pace all summer.   But next week, there will be two field trips, a Big Rock Show, a sleep-over, a festival, and some Father's Day activities, so maybe I'm wrong.  I'm tired, but at least I'm not bored.

The next couple of days are supposed to be delightfully cool.  I hope to be outside as much as possible.  I hope your summer is off to a good start, too.  Almost game time.  Fingers crossed...

King's Speech: On our "to rent" list. Any good?

Any professional insights?

Yes, it's a very good movie. Stuttering is a very difficult thing to kind of have to wing it and find what works for the individual. No "program" approach will work for everyone. It's frustrating.
