Good Eats

Barbecue was out-voted by Carrabba's, and that's OK by me. It was FINE. I can now vouch for the Plano location as well as Lakewood. Thanks to LarryFeathers for dinner. Go to Carrabba's for some good food.

I'm boycotting Carrabba's. Since they opened, the great La Dolce Vida closed down. And I realize somebody had to go because Lakewood at one point had four Italian joints --- Angelo's, Scallini's, Carrabba's and La Dolce Vida. I was rooting for Carrabba's to go down in flames because it's a chain --- the remainder were small guy operators. If they close, you can't go to their Plano location.

I know what you mean about chains, but Carrabba's are local guys and their food is fabulous. I never cared for La Dolce Vita. I ate there a few times and it just wasn't that great. Best neighborhood Italian is Nero's by far. Great food, great service...

But I stand by my Carrabba's endorsement. Once you've had the Pollo Rosa Maria or the Chicken Bryan, you will be hooked as well.
