I Am Insane Now, Chuck

Spent 15 minutes this morning having a mental debate with myself in the canned fruit aisle of Central Market all about blackberry cobbler. Long story short...I finally decided to put the whole thing off until I can make it from scratch. If I go crazy, it's nobody's fault but mine.

May I offer a suggestion? Make white trash cobbler. All you do is pour the biggest can of blackberries you can find in a pyrex casserole dish with the juice. Pour yellow cake mix on top. And then cut up an entire stick of butter into squares and place it on the mix. Do not stir it. Put it in the oven for about 30 minutes at 400, until throughly cooked. Believe me, you'll be tempted to eat the whole thing in one sitting.

Is the yello cake mix in powder form?

oops I just made your blog a suspect.

The yellow cake mix is definately powder form. The street value is $2.49.

Well, that's what I was GONNA do, but I thought it was cheating. See, I figure if you're going to treat yourself and your family to a rare dessert, you oughta make it from scratch. So I walked around, picked up cans of blackberries, put them back, picked up cake mix, put it back, and so forth for several minutes. I think the stockboys on the aisle began to get suspicious.

Believe me, sometimes going the scratch route is not always the best route. Cobbler is a good example. White trash cobbler is so good. You'll forget all about the fact you didn't put more effort into your dessert after you've had about four bowls of it.

It'd be nice if Kev would chime in on this...he's the one that has to help me eat it.
